We’re Not Laughing
April 27, 2009
It would appear Maleny State High School teachers are in need of mood enhancement – but the government’s decision to spend $1200 on “laughter therapy” for the teachers has been labelled a sad joke.
For two hours during last Monday’s pupil-free day at the school a laughing consultant taught 82 staff members how to laugh.
The laughter therapy session has been likened by some to Sunshine Coast council’s decision to hire a clown to give its staff a motivational talk last year.
Parents of children attending the school – and the students themselves – have joined the Qld Opposition in panning the session.
